Do not let your fire go out, spark by irreplaceable spark, in the hopeless swamps of the approximate, the not quite, the not yet, the not at all. Do not let the hero in your soul perish, in lonely frustration for the life you deserved, but have never been able to reach. Check your road and the nature of your battle. The world you desired can be won. It exists, it is real, it is possible, it is yours.
Maybe I'm in a little bit biased here but in the words of Gaga herself, 'I don't give a shit.' It's not very often I fall in love with a song but I heard Edge Of Glory a couple of days ago and literally have not been able to stop listening to it. I would go so far as to say that it is my favourite ever Lady GaGa song, which is quite a big deal as up until now another of her songs, Speechless, has been one of my favourite songs of all time. The lyrics are exquisite and go perfectly with the melody. True song-writing genius.
Last night she performed it acoustically with her piano at Radio 1 Big Weekend in Carlisle and I'm going through a slight internal dilemma as to which I prefer, the studio version or the acoustic version. A pretty tough decision as they are both amazing.
What is clear though is that once again Gaga has managed to produce another amazing track, and all I know is that next Monday, when her new album is released, will be on par with Christmas for 'most exciting day of the year.'
Until next time xoxo
'I used to walk down the street like I was a fucking star. I want people to walk around delusional about how great they can be - and then to fight so hard for it every day that the lie becomes the truth.'
Right, so my first outfit post. This dress is definitely one of my favourite items of clothing that I own. I got it last year from River Island before this Christmas party that I was invited to but somehow I've found quite a few occassions to wear it since. As you can probably see, it's leather with silver embellishment on the left shoulder. Thankfully it has a lining inside as I'm not a great fan of the whole 'leather-sticking-to-your-skin' feeling. It's pretty dressy and isn't really one of those pieces that you can dress-down as well as dress-up but I love it nonetheless.
Much love xoxo
'I can't live with myself so stay with me tonight.'
Shall I compare thee to a summer's day?
Thou art more lovely and more temperate:
Rough winds do shake the darling buds of May,
And summer's lease hath all too short a date:
Sometime too hot the eye of heaven shines,
And often is his gold complexion dimm'd;
And every fair from fair sometime declines,
By chance, or nature's changing course, untrimm'd;
But thy eternal summer shall not fade,
Nor lose possession of that fair thou owest;
Nor shall Death brag thou wander'st in his shade,
When in eternal lines to time thou growest;
So long as men can breathe, or eyes can see,
So long lives this, and this gives life to thee.
