River Island Autumn Preview Picks.

So I was having a little browse on the River Island website earlier and saw that they have released a preview of their A/W line which is actually now available for purchase. I have to say that I absolutely love the vibe that they've gone for and if the rest of the collection is like this I can definitely see myself doing a lot of shopping in River Island this Winter. Here are a few of my favourites from the preview, but it was such a tough decision as to which to choose because their were so many items that I loved. As you can see from the selection here, the line mainly consists of rich, deep colours in a number of different textures from, leather to chiffon, to knitwear to create a kind of luxe feel. I've always preferred dressing for Winter as opposed to Summer as I love layering up clothes and getting all cosy in chunky cardigans and that sort of thing so I cannot wait for the full collection to hit the shops.
River Island, you done good!

Much love

We all need a little inspiration.

"You ever heard the expression, 'the best thing's in life are free'? Well that expression is true.  Every once in a while people step up, they rise above themselves. Sometimes they surprise you and sometimes they fall short. Life is funny sometimes. It can push pretty hard but if you look close enough, you can find hope in the words of children, in the bars of a song and in the eyes of the person you love. And if you're lucky, I mean if you're the luckiest person on the entire planet, the person you love decides to love you back."

Gran Canaria 2012.

Last week I was fortunate enough to spend a wonderful week on holiday in Puerto Rico, Gran Canaria. Having never been to any of the Canary Islands before I didn't quite know what to expect but I had an amazing, unforgettable week (not to mention discovering the delicious Canarian potatoes which I will attempt to recreate as soon as I pluck up the courage to do so in the kitchen.)
Here I've posted my evening outfits which I wore to dinner and then for drinks afterwards in the various bars. I probably didn't dress as formal as I usually do for nights out back home, but when temperatures are surpassing 35 degress celcius staying cool is definitely a priority so anything that wasn't loose fitted was a no-go. My most recent purchase of the above outfits was the River Island dress which I picked up in the sale just before I left. To be honest, I wasn't that keen on it when I saw in on the hanger but decided to try it on nonetheless and now I absolutely love it. It's perfect for barbeque's and summer nights (not that the weather in England at the moment holds a promise for many barbeques, boooo.)
Also, I feel like I need to give a special mention to my trusted high-waisted denim shorts in the second photo. I got them from Primark about 3 or 4 years ago for around £8 and they still serve me very well to this day. I absolutely love high-waisted things and these are one of those items in my wardrobe that I would never ever dream of throwing out.
I'm not sure if I'll be going away again this Summer. There is the possibility of going to the Alps in Bavaria, Germany in August as I have family over there but we shall see. I'm already having withdrawal symptoms from the sun and cocktails and hating having to dress in what can only be described as 'definitely not summer clothes' due to this abysmal British weather. Let's hope it picks up!

Much love

Designer Wish List.

(Balmain Leather Jacket; Hermes Birkin Bag; Hermes Silk Scarf; Chloe Chiffon Shirt; Prada Sunglasses; Chanel Ballet Pumps.)

In my little dream world inside my head, I own all of these items. But sadly it is just that, a dream world. When it comes to designer pieces I love all the classic pieces, usually the one item that the designer is most famous for. I'm not one for crazy colours and prints and tend to stick to pastels, nudes and black more often that not, which you can probably tell from my selection of items here. I'm currently saving up for either a pair of Chanel Ballet Pumps or a Hermes Birkin Scarf to go along with my Alexander McQueen one which I got as a present last Summer for my A Level results, but we'll just see how that goes. Being a student and saving up for designer clothes don't exactly go hand in hand unfortunately. Maybe they'll just have to stay put in my dream world for a little while longer.

Much Love

Self portrait.

Ok, so for the observant viewers amongst you, you will notice that this is in fact my first blogpost on here since July 2011. I don't know why but over the last few weeks I've had a sudden wave of inspiration to start blogging again and now that I'm back at home, with all my first year uni exams out the way, I thought I'd get cracking with this blogging business again. I think I'm going to go for the same kind of vibe as what I had on here before, with stuff like outfit posts and what is inspiring me at the moment etc etc but what I want to add in which I didn't do before is product reviews. Being a typical girlie girl I get through endless amounts of crap that I see in Boots or Superdrug, and the quality of what I buy varies immensely from brand to brand and even from product to product. Because of this I think it will be quite useful for readers to see what my own personal opinions are as I know reviews definitely help me a lot when deciding what to buy.

To give you a brief overview of myself, I'm 19 years old and am currently living in Coseley,  a small town about 7 miles out of Birmingham City Centre. However, I've only just moved back here after spending the last 9 months in Leeds where I've been a first year studying Public Relations at Leeds Met. It's pretty safe to say that I've had the most unreal year of my life there and can't wait to re-live all again when I move back at the end of the Summer. Until then I plan to have a great summer with a nice cheeky trip to Gran Canaria in 2 weeks time which I cannot wait for.

So anyway, apologies if I've bored you with this slightly random and seemingly pointless post but I just thought it would be best to give a brief (re)-introduction before I start firing posts at you again.

Thanks for reading

Outfit Post 2.

Just thought I'd share with you a couple of the pieces I picked up in the Summer Sales. The mint top is from Topshop and I'd actually had my eye on it for a while when it was at full price so I definitely felt like my luck was in when I saw it at half price. I absolutely love the back of it and how it blows in the wind. The shoes were an even bigger bargain at £20, reduced from £75 at River Island. The detail on the heel is what really drew me to them. They seem to me a bit Lady Gaga-esque and are probably as close as I will get to copying her style as you won't be seeing me with a steak on my head any time soon.
